A campaign has been launched to stop the closure of local Ulster Bank branches.
Last month it was reported that Natwest is considering closing all 88 Ulster Bank branches in Ireland and laying off 2,500 staff.
The Financial Services Union has written to the company directors asking them to consider all options and hold proper consultation before winding down operations.
Ulster bank currently has branches in Cavan town, Monaghan town, Ballyconnell and Ballyjamesduff.
A number of other branches in the region had been closed in recent years.
FSU General Secretary John O’Connell told Shannonside Northern Sound that local communities suffer if banking services are removed.
