A Belturbet man is walking the Camino trail in Spain from tomorrow in honour of his late brother.
Brendan Vesey along with his good friend Liam Coll is partaking in the fundraiser in aid of SOSAD Cavan in memory of Brendan's 18 year old brother Liam.
Liam was a very popular young man in his community of Belturbet and with his local football team Rory O'Moore's GFC. Brendan said it was amazing how the community came together following the passing of Liam and he says he and his family couldn't thank the people of the wider Belturbet area enough.
Brendan set up a go fund me page last month which has already amassed over 25,000 euros prior to Brendan and Liam Coll completing the Camino. Speaking to Northern Sound, Brendan said he and his friend will walk 25km a day for one week to raise money for this "very worthy" cause.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Brendan said his brother Liam always had a smile on his face and looked like he hadn't a care in the world.
