There are calls for victims of domestic violence in Cavan and Monaghan to be given priority on local authority housing lists.
A local support services say proper funding must be provided for by the Programme for Government to allow services in every county.
Currently, anyone seeking refuge from an abusive situation in the local region will be put up in a local B&B or hotel, as there is no emergency accommodation centre in either county.
