Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr Philip Brady has called on the people of Cavan to unite behind Cavan Tidy Towns as Cavan Town competes in the prestigious 'Ireland's Best Kept Towns' competition.
Cavan Town was nominated for the Ireland's Best Kept Town, an all-island competition jointly organised by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Northern Ireland Amenity Council. Participants are selected based on their performance in the SuperValu Tidy Towns competition and Northern Ireland's 'Best Kept' competition. Cavan will be competing in the Large Town category, with judging taking place next month.
Cathaoirleach, Cllr Brady it is an honour for Cavan Town to be selected for this prestigious competition and I hope the people of Cavan Town and local businesses will rally behind our fantastic tidy towns organisation here and help out, whether by volunteering directly, or by keeping the areas around their own homes or premises litter free. Cllr Brady says this competition is an opportunity for the county town to put its best foot forward and showcase what Cavan has to offer.
