A councillor has warned that a "serious accident is waiting to happen" due to the lack of a filter lane in Tullyvin.
Aiden Fitzpatrick told a recent Bailieborough-Cootehill MD meeting that a filter lane is urgently needed "from Tullyvin village to the turn to Kill Chapel".
He added that he "dreads to think of what could happen" given the number of children who use the road to access the Kill Shamrocks GAA pitch.
MD Area Manager Alan Lyons said he will bring the issue to the Roads Design team.
However, he expressed concern that a filter lane would "limit the number of safe over-taking opportunities on the road", which could encourage drivers to overtake in other unsafe locations.
