Green Party candidate in Monaghan, Tate Donnelly is calling for more Electric Vehicle charging points in the county. He said with only seven public charging points in County Monaghan, the area is lagging behind many other counties like Donegal, which has 28 public points.
Mr Donnelly, who is running for a seat in the Csstleblayney-Carrickmacross district elections next year, spoke to Northern Sound, and set out his stall on issues important to his party and home county of Monaghan. On EV charging points, the candidate called for an infrastructure strategy to be developed here.
He said "other local councils have launched their own local strategies," and added: "it's now time for Monaghan to also have its own so people here can confidently buy an electric car with a seamless public network."
