Parents of diabetic children in Cavan and Monaghan are being forced to undergo up to three hour round trips to obtain vital treatment for their conditions.
That's according to Deputy Pauline Tully who raised the issue in the Dail last week.
She said young children and their families are currently having to undertake lengthy journeys to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda in order to procure the insulin pump therapy.
The Cavan-Monaghan TD said she has raised the plight of these local families a number of times but still they must travel long distances to secure the much needed treatment. Speaking in the Dail, Deputy Tully called for the service to be provided on site in Cavan or Monaghan.
