A Cavan councillor has raised his concerns in relation to charging points for electric squad cars in Ballyjamesduff.
Fine Gael's Trevor Smith said that Gardaí cars are being charged away from the local station which he believes is highly problematic due to a number of reasons.
According to the local representative, this is causing serious issues in terms of a delay to Gardaí response times as well as leaving the car vulnerable to attack when away from the Garda Station.
As a result, Cllr Smith has called on the relative authorities to make sure that charging points are installed at the local Garda Station so that the vehicle is "ready for action" whenever it is needed.
Cllr Smith added that it's important to have the proper infrastructure in place to encourage members of the public to move to electric vehicles.
