A Monaghan councillor has called for the appointment of a specified co-ordinator for a new Age Friendly initiative.
Cllr Sean Conlon believes that the roll will "greatly enhance" the Council's outreach with the local ageing population.
His comments were in relation to the Healthy Age Friendly Homes Programme which will be rolled out nationally across all local authorities.

This is part of Phase 2 of the programme and a total of 44 local co-ordinator positions will be in place across six regions.
