Calls have been reiterated for children with Spina Bifida in Cavan to be able to access "necessary procedures."
At a previous Cavan County Council meeting, Councillor John Paul Feeley told those gathered that €250m had been provided this year to address the delays that were now evident in the system.
It emerged that some children are waiting up to 18 months for revolutionary treatment.
While no update was available at yesterday's council meeting, Councillor Feeley said the illness - with the right treatment - was less burdensome with sickness.
He added that the time had come to seek to procure - by any means necessary - the surgery that will help these children to "get back to their normal healthy lives".
