A Monaghan Councillor has called for an audit to be carried out on pothole patching works in the area.
At a recent Monaghan MD meeting, Paudge Connolly questioned if the velocity patching works were value for money.
He also asked if assessments were carried out on the works, as it seems that the same potholes have to be done again and again.
Meanwhile, Brian McKenna said velocity patching is "useless" and a "waste of money" outside of periods of dry weather.
The councillor were told that the velocity patching is a "temporary measure" and a "short term fix".
MD co-ordinator Donal McElwain added that "better drainage is critical" and that landowner involvement is needed.
