Transport Infrastructure Ireland is being called on to upgrade the road linking the N2 with the M1.
Planning is underway on upgrades to the N2 from Ardee to Castleblayney, which could see it converted to a dual carriageway.
However, there are no plans to upgrade the N33 road, which links the N2 to the M1 motorway at Ardee, meaning this would remain as a single carriageway.

Concerns have been raised about the safety of the road and it's led to calls for it to be upgraded also.
