The PSNI's Chief Constable's meeting Stormont leaders in Belfast, to discuss the gun attack on Chief Inspector John Caldwell. A fourth man's been arrested in connection with the investigation into the shooting in Omagh. John Caldwell remains in a critical condition.
Meanwhile, Cllr Shane P O'Reilly believes the recent attack on Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell should not act as an opportunity for further delays in getting the Northern Ireland Protocol across the finish line.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the Cavan councillor believes "if anything" the recent scenes in Omagh should "centre the minds" of those in talks. In his opinion, Cllr O'Reilly believes politicians who are currently at "stalemate" should look at what has happened and realise that certain issues are "bigger than egos". He added that it's time for politician in the North to sit around the table and bring things back to where they should be.
"We must be mindful of the fact that there is a man and his family who are going through a serious trauma at this current time," he explained. "There is many politic points to be made out of this but maybe this will centre the minds of those who are currently in talks as we don't want to go back to the way things were."
