Cavan's Cabra Castle has been awarded in a national hotelier and tourism competition. The CIE Tours Awards of Excellence presents its annual awards to the hoteliers and tourism experiences which achieved approval ratings of over 92% from the 25,000 tourists who travelled to Ireland with the company in 2023.
Cabra Castle won the award for 'best hotel dinner'. A CIE statament said the award recognized Cabra's meals "served in the lovely banqueting hall that leaves a lasting memory for those that visit".
The 4-star luxury Cavan hotel joined the likes of Drumoland Castle, the Spencer and Savoy Hotels on the list of this year's winners. Interim boss of CIE, Stephen Cotter, praised the Kingscourt establishment for its contribution to Irish tourism, and the contribution it makes to the local community in terms of jobs and wealth creation".
