Cabra Castle Hotel has been granted planning permission to construct a Civil Ceremony building.
The planning application noted that the demand for a Civil Ceremony space to cater for "less traditional weddings" has been "steadily increasing" and now makes up half of all wedding enquiries.
The single-storey, detached building will be constructed to the rear of the castle and consist of an event space, with toilet and catering services.
There is also provision for an outdoor, landscaped amenity area for guests and a service road to link it to the existing driveway.
Cabra Castle says the new Civil Ceremony building will ensure it can "continue to trade as a premium wedding venue, offering a full range of services to prospective couples".
