Statement from ESB Networks
ESB Networks can confirm that there have been four outages in the Cootehill area since August 2020, with each having an impact on around 1,200 homes, farms and businesses.
Yesterday’s outage (April 14th) was due to a cable fault, commencing at 3pm with all customers having their power restored by 5.10pm.
On 4th February, a member of the public reported a line down in the area to ESB Networks. In such cases, as a safety precaution, we have to cut power until the line is safely removed and repaired/restored. As a result of this, customers had no power between 10.10am and 10.55am.
A similar incident happened on December 10, with customers having no power between 11.15am and 12.10pm.
Meanwhile, a cable fault was the cause of an outage on August 6th with customers impacted from 10.19am to 11.25am.
ESB Networks apologies to all customers for the obvious inconvenience caused by such outages.
