Bus Éireann has confirmed that the reopening of its Cavan Town bus station will be postponed until the end of this month.
Despite the company previously confirming that the station would be opened from June 1st, this evening's announcement has sparked much concern across the Cavan area ahead of the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Despite public calls for its reopening when Covid restrictions were first lifted, the busy station has remained closed since the start of the pandemic.
In a statement to Northern Sound News, a spokesperson for Bus Éireann said that they are currently "engaging" with station providers and are "working towards" a reopening of Cavan town bus station towards the end of this month.
Bus Éireann added that the company will notify local residents across Cavan in advance of the station reopening.
