Bus Éireann has released its local bus route services for Cavan and Monaghan over the festive period. On Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24 December, services will operate to a Tuesday timetable with earlier final departures. City, Town, Commuter and Rural services will operate to a Tuesday service with services starting up to and including 9pm completing their full trip. No services will operate on Christmas Day, December 25th. Bus Éireann services will operate based on Bank Holiday/Sunday service timetables for St Stephen's Day, 26 December commencing around 9am. Passengers planning to travel are encouraged to check the timetable for their routes. Starting from Friday, 27th December services will operate to normal timetables to New Year's Eve, Tuesday 31st December. Services on New Year's Day, Wednesday 1 January will operate to a Sunday schedule. A full normal timetable across Bus Éireann services will resume from Thursday 2 January.
The majority of Bus Éireann services will commence at 9am on St Stephen's Day with following exceptions; Route 109, 07:09 from Kells to Dublin, 08:45 from Dublin, Route 109X, 06:15 from Dublin to Cavan, 06:54 Cavan to Dublin, Route 170, 06:30 from Cavan to Dundalk, 06:45 Dundalk to Cavan, Route 175, 07:45 from Monaghan to Cavan, Route 175A, 08:55 from Cavan to Monaghan, Route 182, 08:00 from Monaghan to Drogheda, Route 187, 08:45 from Kells to Virgina, Route 466, 07:00 from Cavan to Athlone, 07:45 Athlone to Cavan. On New Year’s Day services will operate to a Sunday Schedule.
