The go-ahead has been given for the building of the new fire station in Ballyjamesduff.
1.1 million has been set aside for the project, which will see the construction of a two-bay fire station, drill tower and yard, boundary walls, parking areas, landscaping and all associated site works.
The long-awaited station is to be located at Derrylurgan, Ballyjamesduff.
The Department of Housing, which announced the funding, says construction is expected to take between six and nine months.
The fire station in Ballybay has also been given the go-ahead to move to the design stage.
It is not expected to be complete until 2024 at the earliest.
