The Chair of National Broadband Ireland says he expects the rollout to be complete ahead of schedule and under budget.
David McCourt was speaking at the launch of the 200th Broadband Connection Point in Drumhowan in Monaghan earlier.
It comes as recent reports claims only 4,000 homes would be connected to the network in the first half of the year, well below the target of 115,000 by year end.
Covid has led to delays in the construction phase of the project but speaking to Northern Sound News today, David McCourt said surveying and planning work were carried out instead.
