The car park at Broad Road in Monaghan Town is set to be completed by the autumn.
At a recent Monaghan MD meeting, Councillor Raymond Aughey enquired when the car park would be open.
The new car park will be situated at the former Eircom site off the Broad Road.

It will include electric vehicle charging points and bicycle parking.
MD co-ordinator Donal McElwain told the meeting that the car park will be "in place by the autumn".
Meanwhile, MD Cathaoirleach David Maxwell stressed the need for the car park to be finalised before Christmas.
