The first councillors in the Shannonside Northern Sound region have been elected.
Fianna Gael's Richard Truell and Fianna Fáil's Séamus Coyle were both deemed elected in the Ballybay-Clones MD after exceeding the quota of 1,411.
Whereas, there was a total valid poll of 8463 with 98 invalid votes. Indeed, Richard Truell received 1579 votes with Séamus Coyle receiving 1665, the highest number.
