A new community care facility for Cavan has been given the green light.
The over 1,500 square metre Community Care Hub comes in the wake of a brand new Emergency Department for Cavan General Hospital also being granted. Plans submitted to Cavan County Council by the HSE in May last year called for the construction of a two-storey Enhanced Community Care Hub. The development will comprise of 25 new clinical rooms and a gymnasium on ground floor level. Other facilities in the building include lobbies, reception, waiting rooms, education rooms, staff lounge, comms room, and toilets. 50 car parking spaces, 5 of those accessible, are also included in the application along with Solar panels and green roof at roof level. The new care hub is set to be located across the road from Cavan General Hospital, which was recently granted permission for a major expansion of it's emergency department.
Plans for the new Community Care Hub were granted, with 20 conditions attached
