Aaron Brady has told his trial that he doesn't recognise accents heard on footage of an armed robbery, that led to a Garda being shot dead.
The 29-year-old, from Crossmaglen, Co. Armagh, denies shooting Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe outside a credit union in Co. Louth in January 2013.
In his opening address back six months ago, the prosecuting barrister, Brendan Grehan, told the jurors it would be alleged that Aaron Brady was one of four masked raiders who held up a cash convoy outside Lordship Credit Union on Jan 25 2013.
Det Garda Adrian Donohoe was providing an armed escort that evening when he was shot dead by one of the robbers, whom the prosecution believes to be Mr. Brady.
Under cross-examination today, he was shown dash cam footage of the robbery. Voices, which the prosecution claim to be local accents, could be heard demanding the money.
Mr. Brady said he couldn't make them out, and couldn't say one way or the other if they were local. He insists he had nothing to do with what happened, claiming he was engaged in fuel laundering at the time.
