Friends want to help Teresa get back on her feet by raising €3,000.

Friends of a Braddox woman who lost everything she owns in a house fire just 24 hours after she had her power restored following Storm Éowyn are raising money for her. Teresa had no electricity for six days until last Wednesday. Just 24 hours later, while she was out at a funeral, the fuse box in her home caught fire and the subsequent blaze destroyed her home and all her belongings.

Her pet cat, that was in the house at the time died in the fire and her pet dog needed treatment from a vet. The storm followed by the blaze rounded off a tough couple of years for Teresa who had suffered a personal bereavement in that period.

Now, her friends want to help Teresa get back on her feet by raising €3,000 to help her replace some of the practical items she lost in the house fire. Her cousin, Frances McKenna, told Northern Sound the personal things can never be replaced. You can donate via the "Teresa Markey Fire Assistance" GoFundMe page.
