There were 4,899 new houses granted planning permission in Q1 of 2024.
37 homes got the go-head in Monaghan in the first three months of the year while 24 applications for new-builds were approved by Cavan County Council. The border area and the west accounted for the 18.5 per cent of approved applications.
The South-West region had the highest proportion of new houses approved with 20.8 per cent of all houses granted planning permission in the state. Leitrim with fourteen houses had the lowest proportion of houses granted planning permission across the country over the same period.
