A boil water notice has been issued for Castlerahan, Mountnugent and Munterconnaught Group Water Scheme.
The notice is due to a recent detection of Coliform in the water.
The local water group supply says they have been advised by Cavan County Council to issue this boil water notice.
When preparing water for use, it must be boiled for at least 10 minutes, bringing it to a vigorous, rolling boil.
The water must then be allowed to cool, covered and stored in a refrigerator or cold place.
Prepared Water (Boiled and Cooled), must be used for Drinks made with water, preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating, brushing of teeth or making of ice.
If preparing infant feeds with tap water, please ensure that the tap water has been brought to the boil once and cooled.
Do not use water that has been re-boiled several times
This notice is in effect until further notice.
