The body of a man in his 40s has been recovered from the sea off the Donegal Coast.
He was reportedly taking part in a scuba diving event when another man also got into difficulty.
The Coastguard was called to the scene at Teelin Bay at around half 12 yesterday afternoon and contacted gardai to ask for help.
Both men were recovered from the water.
One of the men, a man in his 40s was later pronounced dead.
The other man in his 60s who was also pulled from the sea is receiving treatment this morning at University Hospital Galway.
Both men were reportedly taking part in a scuba diving event.
The local coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be carried out on the body of the man in his 40s in the coming days.
