A fire that broke out in Kingscourt in the early hours of this morning has been brought under control. At approximately 2:30am, Cavan County Fire Service was alerted to the blaze an an enterprise centre on the Kells Road.
Units from Kingscourt, Virginia and Bailieborough attended the scene, and worked through the night in difficult blustery conditions to bring the fire under control.
Cavan County Council has confirmed this morning that emergency services remain in Kingscourt. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Meanwhile, the Kingscourt Playcentre in the adjoining will remain closed today until an assessment of damage takes place.
