The Bishop of Clogher, Larry Duffy, has warned this week that the church is facing "significant changes".
He was speaking during a special mass that was held at the Basilica in Knock.
Bishop Duffy highlighted how the numbers of people entering religious life has "much reduced" particularly when compared to those of 30 years ago.

He pointed to how challenging the situation will become for everyone.
The Bishop also said that those of faith can become discouraged and "lament the present situation" or they could fill themselves with the hope of a better future.
