'Farmers who lost birds can't be forgotten'

There were positive results for Avian Influenza on both sides of the border last week.

Measures will be lifted in the remaining restriction zone next week if there are no further outbreaks.

IFA Poultry Chair, Andy Boylan, says the cost increases are at a "rate not seen in half a generation".

This outbreak is reported to be in the Clontibret area.

This is the fifth outbreak of avian influenza in poultry in the Republic of Ireland this year, and the fourth in County Monaghan.
