Monaghan Tidy Towns and Vision Ireland in Monaghan are teaming up for a unique Circular Economy project this week. They are asking people to donate their “preloved” handbags to the Vision Ireland Shop this week for a special sale on Saturday 1st June. Monaghan Tidy Towns has been awarded funding to develop a Circular Economy Plan for the town this year through the Community Foundation for Ireland. Emer Brennan is Chairperson of Monaghan Tidy Towns.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Emer said; "We are looking for those unused handbags that may be lurking forgotten in wardrobes and cupboards in many homes across the country. Some may be vintage, others may have been unwanted or unused gifts. We already have some unique and previously quite expensive bags donated. The sale on Saturday offers the chance for customers to browse and choose a new handbag for a fraction of what would have been its original price. So if you have a bag to donate, drop it in to the Vision Ireland Shop on Glaslough Street, Monaghan during the week and don’t forget to come to the Sale on Saturday 1st June from 10am."
