As of close of business today, estate agents for Mobane House has taken a bid of €1, 015, 000 for the Castleblayney property. Savills confirmed to Northern Sound, they received the bid of €15,000 over the €1m asking price in recent days. Bidding remains open and Savills are welcoming viewing appointments as the property is still on the market and open to higher offers.
Mobane House on on the Dundalk Road, is believed to be the first home in Monaghan to go to market with a price tag of €1m. At almost 10,000 sq ft, the house boasts an indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and snooker room and five acres of landscaped gardens. The family selling the property, acquired a field next to Mobane House, which is also included in the sale.
The only house in Monaghan to ask a six-figure price was the former home of Castleblayney teacher Sally Hughes and her businessman husband, Barry, who is originally from Armagh.
