A Belturbet woman has been given a role in Taoiseach Simon Harris' inner circle.
Majella Fitzpatrick from Kilconny, Belturbet has worked with the Fine Gael party since 2011, when she started out as communications director under then-Taoiseach Enda Kenny. The move into political communications came following extensive experience in public affairs as Majella Fitzpatrick previously worked for both IBEC and Eircom.
"Describing herself as a "strategic communications influencer" Ms Fitzpatrick worked for Simon Harris before when he became Minister for Health in 2016. She stepped out of politics for a time becoming Head of Corporate Affairs for Tesco Ireland, before getting the call-up from Simon Harris.
