A Cavan water supply has been classified as 'at risk' by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) last year.
The EPA included the Belturbet supply on its Remedial Action List (RAL) as one of the water sources that requires significant corrective action.
In all, four water supplies in the Shannonside Northern Sound region were classified as 'at risk' last year.
These included the North West Regional Supply in Roscommon, the Longford Central and Granard Supplies in Longford, and the Belturbet Supply in Cavan.
Supplies can be placed on the list based on four criteria including the presence of E-Coli bacteria in the water or excessive levels of chemicals.
Four of the supplies on the RAL, including Longford Central Supply, have been on there for over a year while 18 areas did not have planned work completion dates.
Nationally, a total of 58 supplies were on the Remedial Action List, up from 52 on the previous year.
