The 'Be Summer Ready' campaign was launched in recent days by Monaghan County Council. This is the fourth year of the campaign which compliments the long standing "Be Winter Ready" information initiative.
The campaign aims to provide information to the general public across the region on issues that may affect them during the summer months.
It encourages people to become informed and aware of the risks which may occur and to be prepared; stay safe, and know where to find help in an emergency.
The theme of this year's event is 'Think Water Safety - Plan and Prepare' and the focus is on personal safety. A campaign leaflet containing information on the summer campaign can be downloaded from the Monaghan.ie website.
Meanwhile, the campaign leaflet contains important water safety focused advice and information as well as additional sources of advice to assist the public in planning and preparing before taking to the water.
Monaghan County Council is urging people to take some time to familiarise themselves with the information and advice on water safety, road safety, health preparedness, and farm safety.
