Ulster Bank or KBC customers in Cavan and Monaghan who are looking to switch banks will be helped by a new service. All five retail banks have launched dedicated phonelines to help vulnerable users.
The Banking Payments Federation of Ireland say 434 thousand new current accounts have been set up in the year to date. Head of Sustainable Banking, Louise O'Mahony, says that call operators will be there to help.
"Each bank has dedicated phonelines for these customers. It doesn't matter how complicated customers' questions are - by contacting these dedicated phone lines there will be help there for them," she added.
