Banks have done reprehensible harm to this country at this present moment in time.
That's according to Independent Councillor Shane P O'Reilly in relation to Cabinet who earlier this week signed off on plans to lift pay caps on the banking sector.
Banks will also be allowed to pay bonuses of up to 20,000 euro a year.
The restrictions were put in place after the financial crash but will be unwound as the State continues to sell its stake in the bailed-out banks.
According to the Cavan man he was taken aback that the decision came so soon.
