The ban on the burning or selling of smoky coal comes into effect in Cavan
town and Longford town from Tuesday.
The Department of Climate Action is adding 13 more towns to the list of
areas where smoky coal is banned.
The ban is in place for environmental and health grounds and people found
selling or burning smoky coal face fines.
People are being urged to make sure the fuel they're buying or burning is
labelled as smokeless.
