A Ballyhaise man is appealing to the Government to ease planning laws for free standing structures and mobile homes.
Eoin McGovern lives with his wife and children in a mobile home to the rear of his family home.
It cost in the region of €20,000, however within 3 weeks of it being built, it was reported to the local authority, who issued an enforcement notice. He and his family are now facing eviction. It emerged last week that Government are considering proposals to allow modular housing to be built without planning permission. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Eoin says many people like him with young families simply can't afford to move or pay the extortionate rent prices.
He's hoping planning exemptions can be extended to mobile homes
