The new editor of the Sun newspaper in Ireland is a Ballyconnell woman.
Fiona Wynne was appointed to the senior role at Ireland's best-selling tabloid newspaper earlier this month.
In a career spanning over 25 years, Fiona worked as a general reporter in the Irish Mirror where she became features editor before moving to the Sun in 2006.
Earlier this week, Fiona told the Joe Finnegan Show that while the Irish Sun is linked to its sister newspaper in London, our edition is a stand alone Irish entity, reporting on the issues that matter most to Irish readers.
And, the paper's new boss from Cavan says the Irish Sun will continue to reflect Irish society.
