A Ballyconnell Parish priest has reunited a 400 year old chalice with its original origin in County Leitrim.
Monsignor Liam Kelly said the chalice was taken from Jamestown in South Leitrim after the Famine and was stored in Cincinnati convent in Ohio.
The parish priest travelled over to Ohio to bring home the chalice following the convent were downsizing and they wanted it to return to its original place bear Carrick On Shannon.
He hopes that it will go on public display in Carrick on Shannon in St Georges Heritage Centre.
Monsignor Liam Kelly has been a parish priest in Ballyconnell since September of this year.
