A Ballyconnell Councillor has praised the work of emergency services following a fatal crash in Co Cavan.
A motorcyclist in his 50s died in the incident on the R202 at Corratillan, near Corlough, on Saturday afternoon.
He has since been named as Fred Tully from Co Donegal.
Fine Gael's Peter McVitty said it was a "desperate tragedy", but he also thanked emergency services for their quick response.
Gardaí in Ballyconnell are continuing an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.
While Councillor McVitty says "accidents will happen", he's called for motorists to be careful on the roads, particularly over the Bank Holiday weekend:
