Redeveloped harbours, improved amenities for boat users and better walking and cycling trails are just some of the projects included in a new masterplan for the Shannon region.
The €76 million project, developed by Fáilte Ireland, Waterways Ireland and 10 local authorities - including Cavan County Council - aims to boost visitor numbers by 400,000 over the next 9 years.
Ballyconnell and Belturbet are among the areas included in the document.
