The figure is down from 17,000 this morning. The worst affected areas for power outages in both counties are Ballyjamesduff with 2,100 properties affected;

Annie Heyneman of Kilnavart, Co.Cavan was found dead in her home a number of weeks ago.

Some of those involved in the collision involving a tractor and two cars were injured but, none seriously.

Members of the local community and further afield wanted to come together to offer the Heyneman family support.

Danny Heyneman is charged with the murder of his mother and also the attempted murder of his father.

Mrs Heyneman's son, Danny Heyneman, appeared at Monaghan District Court charged with her murder this morning. 

The main suspect in the investigation into the discovery of Annie Heyneman's body in Ballyconnelll at the weekend has now been charged.

The appeal for witnesses centres around the Ballinamore Road in Ballyconnell from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on Saturday night last.
