A Ballybay councillor has called for a new library in the town.
Councillor Sean Gilliland passed a motion at the recent Ballybay-Clones MD seeking the Council to research funding streams for a new library building.
The Fine Gael councillor has praised the work of Ballybay library staff but says the building "isn't fit for purpose" and that their work is hampered by the "small, congested building".
Councillor Gilliland added that the "structure" of the library means renovating it "isn't an option".
While Councillor Gilliland is confident of securing funding, he says it will be more difficult to find a suitable building:
