There are currently 18,000 female farmers in Ireland.
And Chloe Wilson from Bailieborough is one of them having taken over the family farm when she was just 14-years-old after her father, Fred, became ill.
Now in her 20s, Chloe works full time in security as well as running the farm.
Speaking to Northern Sound from the Virginia Show earlier, Chloe said because she grew up on the farm working alongside her dad, when the time came to take over the reigns, she was well up to the task.
However, she admits its not easy running a farm and working full time; this year she missed out on calving season because she was so busy.
"You work morning to evening and you come home then after working all day and you have do whatever amount of work is needed in the farm," added Chloe.
"It doesn't just stop at 10 or 11 o'clock at night; it could go on until 2am, 3am or even 4am.
"It does impact you physically because you just end up being so tired."
