Bailieborough Community School has received approval for additional funding that will see a significant expansion of its school building.
Education Minister Norma Foley confirmed that the school was successful in its application under this year's Additional Accommodation Scheme.
The works will include four new general classrooms, four special education rooms, a new art and music room, as well as a science laboratory, library, and dining facilities.
These works are in addition to additional accommodation that was approved in September of last year for the provision of four General classrooms, a multimedia room and a science lab with a prep area.

Meanwhile, local TD and past-pupil Niamh Smyth has praised the work of the school's staff and Board of Management and says it's fantastic news for the entire community:
