Rents continue to rise across the country, with last quarter seeing a 7 per cent increase on the year before.
The latest Daft.ie report shows monthly rents rose for the 14th consecutive quarter, averaging at €1,922 euro nationwide. In Cavan, market rents were on average 11.6% higher in the second quarter of 2024 than a year previously. The average listed rent is now €1369, that's up 82% from the level prevailing when the covid19 pandemic occurred.
While in Monaghan, market rents were on average 10.3% higher in the second quarter of 2024 than a year previously. The average listed rent is now €1294 in the Farney county. That is up 65% from the level prevailing when the covid19 pandemic occurred. Nationwide, market rents rose by an average of 2% in the second quarter of 2024, according to the latest Rental Report by Daft.ie. Economist at Trinity College Dublin and author of the report Ronan Lyons says supply outside of Dublin has dropped off dramatically.
