The average house price now stands at €293.000 in Monaghan and €194,000 in Cavan.
That's according to the Irish Independent's annual 'How Much Is Your House Worth 2024 survey' that was released in recent weeks. The report showed that Monaghan house prices were up by 3% while prices in Co Cavan rose by 2%. Irish Independent Property Editor Mark Keenan says Cavan has traditionally been less expensive that other neighbouring counties over the years with remote working making the county more attractive for people moving to the region. He says the average price in Meath is now at €335,000 and buyers from Dublin are now looking to counties like Cavan and Monaghan to buy a property.
The Irish Independent Property Editor says the Shannonside Northern Sound region certainly still offers value for people trying to get on the property ladder.
